For ALBUM OF THE YEAR: Tommy Castro’s ‘A Bluesman Came To Town’ won, and for CONTEMPORARY BLUES ALBUM OF THE YEAR: Christone “Kingfish” Ingram’s ‘662’ won! A big congratulations to all of the winners & nominees!!!

4/5/2022

Christone “Kingfish” Ingram’s Album 662 won a Grammy the other night for Best Contemporary Blues Album. What an honor! He’s worked extremely hard on the making of this album, and he has been out promoting it endlessly, it seems. All of that hard work and dedication paid off. It was such an honor to have played on this album & I’m extremely happy for Kingfish. I am blessed to do what I love to do, and working with so many accomplished professionals in the Nashville music community is one of my greatest honors.

To all who were involved: Tom Hambridge, Zach Allen, the fellow session players Bob Britt & Marty Sammon, the staff at Ocean Way Recording Studio & Christone himself along with his manager Ric, thank you. It was such an amazing experience! You all worked so hard, with incredible focus and talent, yet it seemed like we were doing what just comes so natural. I’ve learned so much working with these folks and many others in Nashville with equal talent and dedication. Thank you all for letting me be a part of it! Peace & Love, TM

In September 2020, we started tracking songs with Christone “Kingfish” Ingram at Oceanway Studios here in Nashville. It was a sketchy time, since we were still in the midst of a shutdown due to the pandemic. But we managed to get in the studio for the week with everyone and begin recording the 2nd Kingfish album. And I’m happy to say that the album, “662”,  was officially released last week. And it sounds amazing! Take a few minutes and read this recent album review from Glide Magazine.

You can find the album 662 on the Kingfish website, iTunes, Amazon and other fines stores.

Happy Holidays! I hope everyone is hanging in there & keeping safe. Being responsible during these times can be crucial to your own well-being. It’s been a slow year for many of us in the music field, however I did get a chance to do some recording with a few folks. Look for new music by Kingfish, Tommy Castro, The Iron Mike Blues Band & Liverpool Legend Billy J. Kramer!

This year we saw the new album by Casey James being released. ‘If You Don’t Know By Now’ was the Number 1 Blues Album on iTunes on the first day of it’s release. Quite impressive. It’s a rockin’ good album! You can find it at Casey’s website or download it from iTunes and other great streaming sites.IMG_7115

Kingfish just released a Christmas song, just in time for the Holidays! And it features yours truly! Check it out:

That’s all for now. I’m hoping 2021 will be a decent year for performing and making more music. Check back for any upcoming tour dates. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! TM

3/19/2020

Due to the current state of affairs, all live shows that are booked into the summer are being cancelled or postponed. Stay tuned for more updates as these are serious times. Please folks, heed the warnings and stay put. Don’t go out socializing if you truly do not need to. And be safe out there. This has the potential to get worse before it gets better.

Happy New Year!! Looking forward to another fun year of rockin’ & rollin’ through the great US of A, and beyond!

I’m currently heading out on 1 of 3 cruises booked this year: The Sandy Beaches Cruise 25. I’ve been on this cruise quite a few times in the past. It’s also known as the Delbert McClinton Cruise. I’ve played it lots with Jeffrey Steele back in the day. This year, I’ll be performing with Casey James. He asked me if I was interested and of course I said yes! This cruise goes from Jan 5 to Jan 12. Carribean islands, and lots of great live music on board. Along with Delbert & Casey, there’s also The Mavericks, Lee Roy Parnell, McCrary Sisters, Ansun Funderburgh, Al Anderson, Band of Heathens…..and many many more performances! These music cruises are a huge trend nowadays. Just about everyone is doing them. Lots of fun!! Anyways, Cruises #2 & #3 will be in February. LRBC will go from Feb 3-10, and The Joe Bonamassa cruise will be from Feb 25-Mar 1st. Those 2 cruises I’ll be playing with Tom Hambridge. They should be a blast as well. When I have time I’ll add these dates to my tour calendar. I just don’t have enough time right now!! Gotta get on a boat in the morning! Oh yea….I’ll also post my spring tour dates with David Lee Murphy. We’re hitting the road as the support act for Kenny Chesney. Stay tuned! Blessings to everyone!!

6/25/18

2 news albums I’m performing on have been released this month: Tom Hambridge’s The NOLA Sessions & Buddy Guy’s The Blues Is Alive And Well were released within the past 2 weeks and are burning up the blues charts! This week, Tom’s song ‘This End Of The Road’ hits the Number 1 spot on the Root’s Report Blues Top 50 singles chart. There are also 4 other tunes from The NOLA Sessions on the top 50 chart! Pretty amazing for an independent artist! Congrats to all involved with Tom’s album! The NOLA Sessions is available at CD Baby. You can also preorder the vinyl HERE.

Buddy Guy’s album, The Blues Is Alive And Well, is doing phenomenally well on the charts too!. He has several of the tunes on the blues charts the past few weeks. There are songs on this album with special guests such as Jeff Beck, Keith Richards, Mick Jagger & James Bay. I truly believe this is one of Buddy’s best albums ever! Pick it up now!!

Quinn_MidnightHighway

Quinn Sullivan’s new album “Midnight Highway” is now available everywhere. Reviews for the album have been positive (…..Though just 17, Quinn has spent time in the recording studio with some real veterans [A-list group of side-men including Reese Wynans from Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Double Trouble, Michael Rhodes, Tom Hambridge and Tommy MacDonald] and has come out standing tall. This record shows that he is already a fine bluesman, but the diversity of the entire recording also shows that he can go in any of a variety of directions in the future. Listen for him….). I was very honored to be a part of recording (again) with this incredibly talented young man. Look for me ON TOUR with Quinn though the end of the 2016.

12/22/14

I’ll be performing with Tom Hambridge & The Rattlesnakes on this trip. Other acts performing include Foghat, Starship, Blackberry Smoke and Lynyrd Skynyrd, of course. We’ve performed on the Simple Man Cruise 3 times in the past and it’s always been a great time. You won’t be disappointed! If you’re interested in going, click on the banner above.

7/3/14 – Happy Fourth of July everybody!! I’m hoping everyone has a fun and safe weekend celebrating our Independence!  This past week was so much fun on the road. I was working with Quinn Sullivan, performing in Hyannis Mass at the Cape Cod Melody Tent & Saratoga New York’s Jazz Festival at SPAC. Both shows went quite well. Quinn just keeps getting better and better folks. I’ll be working with him again in August. Check him out at his website. This month will be a busy one…this coming Saturday July 5th I’ll be working with David Lee Murphy in Ashland KY. I’ve got a lot of dates in July booked with David Lee actually – just like the good ol’ days! Check my calender schedule for more touring info.

One more mention for a special show coming up at the end of July: I’ll be performing with Lee Roy Parnell at The Franklin Theater in Franklin TN on Friday July 25th. This theater was recently renovated for live performances &  is a great sounding room. LRP fans will not be disappointed! There will be some surprise guests I’m sure, so make your reservations for the show! Check out a recent LRP performance from a few months back in Macon GA via youtube:

4/15/14  – I recently had the pleasure of performing on the Quinn Sullivan song “She Get’s Me”. The camera crew shot a video of us recording it at The Tracking Room in Nashville. Check it out:

11/14/13 – It’s getting close to the holidays…things are slowing down a little but I’m keeping busy enough to get to the finish line. 2014 promises to be a great year! In the meantime, I’ll be performing on Tuesday nights in Nashville with Big Kirk and the gang, A special house concert on November 23rd with Tom Hambridge and some of the Rattlesnakes, featuring some special guests. That, along with several studio projects, will round out 2013 for me.

It’s been a great year. I’ve been honored to have done so many different musical projects & performances. Many thanks go out to Jeffrey Steele, David Lee Murphy, Quinn Sullivan, Buddy Guy, Rob Caudill, Big Kirk and many others who have included me in their musical journeys. But I’d like to give a mega-huge thanks to my great friend & musical compadre Tom Hambridge – for always getting me involved in some of those projects & performances I just mentioned. Can’t thank him enough actually.

As I said earlier 2014 will be reelin’ & rockin’. I’ll be starting off my New Year performing on the Country Cruise from January 12th through the 19th. I’ll be performing with Trace Adkins, and it will be a big blow out! Click on the link to check it out. I’m excited for sure! So, if I don’t get to bloggin’ before January…forgive me in advance….and have a great Thankgiving, Christmas & New Year!! Peace & love, T

09/13/13

I’ve recently had the wonderful opportunity to perform on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, with 14 year old guitar prodigy Quinn Sullivan. Quinn was the musical guest on August 26th. We performed the title track of his new album ‘Getting There’, released on Superstar Records. This is an album that I also played on. Check out the video from the Tonight Show:

Greetings! Almost a year later, and I’m updating my latest news. I suck at this, huh…

Well I’ve mostly been touring this summer. I’m working with the likes of Jeffrey Steele, Tom Hambridge, Keith Anderson & David Lee Murphy. The earlier part of the year was a little slow. I’m also working with Tom Hambridge on many of his recording projects. Whether it is playing bass on albums or demos, or being his assistant, it keeps me busy. Latest projects include the latest release by Joe Louis Walker, and the soon-to-be-released CD by Quinn Sullivan. This will be his follow-up CD to his debut which I had the pleasure to play on back in 2010. Keep an eye out for it!. I also just finished up a mini-tour with Tom Hambridge (the Rattlesnake trio). We started our tour at BB Kings in NYC & finished up in Chicago at the House of Blues. We were George Thorogood’s special guests on this run. Great bunch of guys to work with. The band & crew are the best in the business. GT lead guitarist Jim Suhler stepped in as Tom’s guitarist for our set. Did an amazing job. Much thanks to the GTD gang! I’ll also be performing with Tom Hambridge & the Rattlesnakes (full band) this October on board Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Simple Man Cruise. This will be our 4th year on the cruise.

Stay tuned for more updates!

10/11/11

It’s been quite awhile since I’ve updated this section with any news. And yes there has been some news! Basically, as I said in my previous post, I was out on tour with Tom Hambridge & The Rattlesnakes during August. We played a bunch of dates with Lynyrd Skynyrd & The Doobie Brothers.  I think the shows went great. Certainly a successful tour for us. There is no major label deal or funds to back our tour but we manage, and we managed to get some new fans who liked us enough to buy the new CD ‘BOOM’. That was the main goal really…to get the music out there. I’m proud of that record. I played on it and assisted with final details and decisions for releasing it. Very proud indeed; and honored to work with such a humble and creative guy like Tom Hambridge.  After our stint with The Doobies & Skynyrd, we did several CD release shows in Boston and Nashville for the album.  There’s a lot of press happening for Boom too. Glad to see it all being very positive. Finally we went out for a 2 week run with George Thorogood & The Destroyers on an east coast tour. We mainly hit NYC, DC, Philly & PA, Boston & NH. Another great and successful run for us. So many people were coming out after our set to buy Tom’s cd’s. Again very honored to be there to witness the effect the music had on George’s fans, who are now fans of Tom Hambridge. Quite a rush.  But as most things in life, it had to come to an end. So now I’m back home from the tour. And now I get ready to do several in-town shows. One of them being this Saturday at 3rd & Lindsley with Jeffrey Steele. It’s been a while since we have played at 3rd & L with Jeffrey, so it will be fun. Not to mention the club has expanded since our last time in. So a good time is to be expected! AND if you are in Nashville this weekend, please stop in! In the meantime I’ll also be playing several shows with Tom Hambridge as we are on several dates with Lynyrd Skynyrd & ZZ Top. Check the calendar dates for all of that info. Until next time, stay cool and stay warm!

7/29/11

The new George Thorogood CD ‘2120 South Michigan Avenue’ is out and doing very well. The song ‘Going Back’ has been Number 1 for two weeks on Classic Rock Radio!  The CD is in the top 10 blues charts in Billoard magazine as well.  In fact, 3 albums that I have recently played on were in the top 10 last week: George Thorogood’s CD, Buddy Guy’s Grammy winning CD Living Proof, and a new artist; a very young artist; a 12-year-old guitar slinger by the name of Quinn Sullivan. His debut album Cyclone was on the top 10 charts as of last week in Billboard magazine! Way to go to all 3! I’m honored to have played a small part in the making of the music.  In other news, summer dates are in full swing. Check out the Calendar page for the full details. But here’s a small taste of what’s happened recently, and what’s up.  This past week on Tuesday July 26, I had the pleasure to perform with Tom Hambridge & The Rattlesnakes at Artpark in Lewiston NY, which is between Buffalo & Niagara Falls. Artpark is an outdoor venue on the Buffalo river, and they hold a Tuesday summer concert series throughout the summer with some of the biggest names in rock music. This past Tuesday, we had the pleasure & honor to share the bill with the legendary Lynyrd Skynyrd!  It was truly an amazing show. Approximately 35,000 people showed up for the event!  It was so amazing performing in front of a huge crowd – diehard Skynyrd fans even – and hear them cheering you on during your performance! It was a definite trip!  The next night, July 27th, Tom & The Rattlesnakes played a club concert in Buffalo (which also happens to be Tom’s hometown). That show was one in a series of CD Release concerts we’ll be holding for Tom’s new CD ‘BOOM!‘ which is due out on August 30th.  It was a great turnout. Tom plugged the show that morning before the concert on 97 rock-FM in Buffalo.  Overall it was a great time in Western NY!  And coming up in a few weeks, Tom Hambridge & The Rattlesnakes will heead out for more concert dates.  We hit MY hometown next! Or  pretty close to it. We start a series of shows on August 21st with Lynyrd Skynyrd & The Doobie Brothers. the show will be held at PNC Bank Center in Holmdel, NJ, which is about 35 miles north of where I grew up.  So I hope to see some family & friends there!! We go on from there zig-zagging north up the east coast. We end up in Newburyport Massachusetts for another CD Release Party, as well as one in Boston on the weekend of August 26 & 27.  We’ll finally finish with the CD celebration shows back in Nashville on September 6th. We’ll be putting on a special show at The Bluebird Cafe, including special guests to be announced! Some of Tom’s musical friends will be sitting in & performing for the special event. Stay tuned for details. Finally, at the end of September going into October, look for Tom Hambridge & The Rattlesnakes to go out on tour with the legendary George Thorogood & The Destroyers. We’ll be hitting the east coast. From NYC to Boston and many places in between!  Stay tuned for those upcoming dates as well. And check back soon…I will do my best to keep everyone up to date on all the exciting news!! Peace…

6/15/11

It’s been a little crazy lately but it’s all good overall.  The latest news is that the new George Thorogood LP/CD will be out on July 12th!  It’s called 2120 South Michigan Ave.  It’s a tribute to Chess Records and is filled with gems by Chuck Berry, Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters & many more.  Go out and buy it (or order it online at amazon.com).  I’m playing on a few of the tracks.  I’ve also been in the studio recording several different projects.  The latest project is with bluesman Joe Louis Walker.  He’s in the studio today adding vocals & guitar overdubs.  It was a killer recording experience & I can’t wait to hear the final product!  I’m now proud to be endorsing Black Diamond Strings. Black Diamond is a mom & pop kind of company who pay attention to special detail with the manufacturing of their strings. I’m looking forward to a long healthy relationship with Black Diamond!  There’s some new tourdates added with more to come.  I’ll be playing with Tom Hambridge & The Rattlesnakes this August & September, and we’ll be touring with Lynyrd Skynyrd/The Doobie Brothers in August and George Thorogood & The Destroyers in September.  The Thorogood tour is still getting ironed out.  I’ll post those dates as soon as they are confirmed.  Go to the Calendar page to see the latest shows.  And check back often for latest updates.

4/12/11

Tour dates are starting to slowly come together.  Here’s what’s on the books so far.  April 23rd – I’ll be performing with country artist Amy Dalley at Music City Bar & Grille, 2416 Music Valley Dr in Nashville.  May 1st – I’m playing with a band called Big Pink, a tribute to The Band.  It’s an outdoor show in Franklin TN at 2pm.  I’ll be hitting the road on May 12th, leaving out to Rockford IL with Mr. David Lee Murphy.  We perform on the 13th at Love’s Park, 8pm.  Just a quick shout-out to David Lee for all of his latest success as a hit songwriter.  He’s written the latest hit for Thompson Square (Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not), and past hits for Jason Aldean (Big Green Tractor) & Kenny Chesney (Living In Fast Forward).  His days as a Country Artist have slowed down but he still churns out some great tunes for others.  May 20th I’ll be heading back towards my ol’ stomping grounds of New England to perform a show with Jimmy Wayne.  We’ll be playing in the Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun in CT.  July 2nd through the 4th David Lee and the gang will be up in Canada for a few dates. I’ll post that info once I know where we are performing.  I’ll add all the details for all of my shows to my CALENDAR page.

Other news: There’s a few CD releases that I’ve been fortunate to be a part of.  Check out Quinn Sullivan’s new CD entitled ‘CYCLONE’.  Quinn is a 12 year old from Fall River MA who started playing guitar at the age of 3. He’s truly amazing on the guitar, and he has a natural gift of music overall. He’s a good singer and he knows music. Ya just gotta love a kid who loves The Beatles too! Check him out: http://www.quinnsullivan.me/ … Another new rock artist to keep an eye out for is Danielle Bloom.  She’s got the rock-n-roll kahunas of bands like Zeppelin, Heart, AC/DC, Joan Jett, James Gang & Pink.  She just released her new album entitled ‘MEET ME IN THE MIDDLE’, and it rocks!  A great singer and a beautiful soul…the real deal!  Go check her out at http://www.daniellebloom.com/ and don’t forget you can find both of these artists on itunes or at Amazon.com. Lastly, it’s been a great feeling to have been a part of performing on a Grammy-winning album.  If you haven’t gotten the latest Buddy Guy album (Living Proof), you really need to pick it up. The album won Best Contemporary Blues Album at the 2011 Grammys. It’s really a great album. Buddy is kicking ass and taking names, all at the age of 74. Check him out: http://www.buddyguy.net/ … That’s all for now folks. Stay tuned for more updates and future gigs.

3/24/11

On Thursday March 31st, I’ll be performing with Jeffrey Steele AND our special guest, the legendary STAX guitarist/songwriter Steve Cropper at The Hard Rock Nashville. This concert is part of Nashville’s Tin Pan South. Make sure to check the Calendar page for info on this particular show!  Jeffrey Steele is one of the world’s top songwriters & is responsible for writing many hit songs for Montgomery Gentry, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Miley Cyrus and many many others. Steve Cropper is most famous for his writing & guitar playing on the songs ‘Soul Man’, ‘Green Onions’, ‘In The Midnight Hour’ and many more Stax hits from the ’60s & ’70s!! You won’t want to miss this show!!
